Cat Pack cats are tested for FIV/FeLV, are up-to-date on all shots, and are spayed/neutered. Cat Pack asks for a minimum $75 adoption donation for kittens under 6 months and $50 for cats & kittens over 6 months to help cover the cost to care for our cats & kittens prior to adoption. |
| Potential adopters will not be allowed to meet the cat(s)
they're interested in until the adoption process is complete, unless they
come to an adoption clinic (times and dates of clinics can be found on our
upcoming events page)
to view whichever cats are there. We are not a shelter, so all our
cats/kittens are in foster homes and we don't ask our foster families to
open up their homes to "window shoppers". Because these clinics are stressful for our cats we do not bring cats/kittens to clinics unless they are ready for adoption. If you're interested in a specific cat that isn't ready yet, you can always adopt online. |
| The decision on which cats are adopted to specific homes
is dependent upon several factors, including, but not limited to, the
compatibility of home and family to the individual cat(s) and the number of
eligible applications received for a particular cat. It's Cat Pack's objective to place each cat in the most appropriate home possible, for both the cat's and the adopter's benefit, and that our decision is final. So, please do not argue with any member of Cat Pack over a decision on your application. If not chosen, you are, of course, welcome to apply for other cat(s), unless otherwise indicated. |
| All cats/kittens in our care have received basic veterinary care and are treated for any illnesses that we are aware of during their time with us. However, since many of the cats in our care come from unknown medical backgrounds, we can make no guarantees as to health or temperament. Therefore, we recommend that all adopters take their new companion(s) to a licensed vet for an examination within 15 days of adoption, at the adopter's expense, and to immediately return the cat if the vet finds that the cat has a terminal or life-threatening problem, or any other illness that the adopter is unable or unwilling to treat, unless the adopter agrees to assume all costs of treatment. |
| During the adoption process Cat Pack members review applications, call references, and occasionally conduct phone interviews. All of this takes time. Everyone here at Cat Pack is a volunteer -- that means the members of our organization work outside the home and they each have their own families to attend to in addition to the time spent doing volunteer work with us. If you aren't willing to be patient during the adoption process, then adopting from us might not be your best option. |
